2023 TONY AWARD® NOMINATIONS

New York, NY (May 2, 2023) – Nominations in 26 competitive categories for the American Theatre Wing’s  76^th Annual Antoinette Perry “Tony” Awards® were announced today by star of Funny Girl Lea Michele and 2022 Tony Award-winner Myles Frost.    The nominees were selected by an independent  committee of 40 theatre professionals appointed by the Tony Awards Administration Committee. The  2023 Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing. (The list of  nominations follows.)

Marking 76 years of excellence on Broadway, The Tony Awards, hosted by Ariana DeBose, will air LIVE on Sunday, June 11, 2023 from the historic United Palace in Washington Heights, in New York City from 8:00-11:00 PM, ET/5:00-8:00 PM, PT on the CBS Television Network, and streaming live and on demand on Paramount+.

CBS and Pluto TV will present The Tony Awards: Act One, a pre-show of live, exclusive content leading into the 76th Annual Tony Awards. The celebration commences at 6:30-8:00 PM, ET/3:30-5:00 PM PT, on Pluto TV, the leading free streaming television service (FAST). Viewers can access the show on their smart TV, streaming device, mobile app or online by going to Pluto TV and clicking on the “Pluto TV Celebrity” channel (no payment, registration or sign-in required).

Legitimate theatrical productions opening in any of the 41 eligible Broadway theatres during the current  season may be considered for Tony nominations. The 2022/2023 eligibility season began Thursday, May 5, 2022 and ended Thursday, April 27, 2023. The Tony Awards will be voted in 26 competitive categories by 769 designated Tony voters within the theatre community.

As previously announced, the 2023 Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre will be presented to Lisa Dawn Cave, Victoria Bailey and Robert Fried. The Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award will be presented to Jerry Mitchell.

Special Will Celebrate the Return of Live Theatre with Unforgettable Performances and Commemorate the 74^th Annual Tony Awards for the 2019-2020 Broadway Season in a Four-Hour Event Across Multiple Platforms 

New York, NY (May 26, 2021) – CBS and Tony Award Productions will celebrate Broadway’s highly anticipated return of live theatre with a multi-platform event, THE TONY AWARDS® PRESENT: BROADWAY’S BACK! on Sunday, September 26 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network and available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+ and the CBS app.

The evening will kick-off with the presentation of the American Theatre Wing’s 74^th Annual Tony Awards® at 7:00 PM ET/4:00 PM PT live exclusively on Paramount+.  The streaming presentation will honor the outstanding shows, performances and artistry of the 2019-2020 Broadway season, which was brought to a halt by the COVID-19 pandemic. The Tony Awards are presented by the Broadway League and The American Theatre Wing.

Immediately following, THE TONY AWARDS PRESENT: BROADWAY’S BACK! will air on the Network, bringing the excitement of Broadway to viewers through a live concert event, featuring superstar Broadway entertainers and Tony Award winners re-uniting on stage to perform beloved classics and celebrate the joy and magic of live theatre. The re-opening of Broadway will be further celebrated with special performances from the three Tony nominated Best Musical contenders, followed by the live presentation of three Tony Awards, including Best Play, Best Revival of a Play and Best Musical. Other winners will be celebrated throughout the broadcast.

2019 TONY AWARD® NOMINATIONS

New York, NY (April 30, 2019) – Nominations in 26 competitive categories for the American Theatre Wing’s 73^rd Annual Antoinette Perry “Tony” Awards® were announced today by Tony Award-winning actress Bebe Neuwirth, Tony-nominated actor Brandon Victor Dixon and CBS This Morning co-host Gayle King, at the Tony Award Nominations ceremony, held at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. The nominees were selected by an independent committee of 42 theatre professionals appointed by the Tony Awards Administration Committee. The 2019 Tony Awards are presented by The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.  (The list of nominations follows.)

Marking 73 years of excellence on Broadway, The Tony Awards, hosted by James Corden, will be broadcast live from the Radio City Music Hall on CBS, on Sunday, June 9^th, 8:00 – 11:00 p.m. (ET/PT time delay). 

Legitimate theatrical productions opening in any of the 41 eligible Broadway theatres during the current season may be considered for Tony nominations. The 2018/2019 eligibility season began April 27, 2018 and ended April 25, 2019. The Tony Awards will be voted in 26 competitive categories by 831 designated Tony voters within the theatre community.

NEW YORK–The 2017 Tony Award nominations were announced today, with Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812 topping the list with 12 nominations, followed by Hello, Dolly! with 10 and Dear Evan Hansen with 9, The Tony Awards will be held in New York City on Sunday, June 11, 2017 and broadcast live on CBS at 8pm Eastern (7pm Central).
