NEW YORK—Beaches, A New Musical has launched a virtual open call to cast Little Cee Cee, the younger version of one half of its central friendship, ahead of its upcoming Broadway run.

Tickets on sale starting January 20, 2026

Next, the production will begin Broadway previews on Friday, March 27, followed by an official opening night on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at the Majestic Theatre (245 West 44th Street). A fan pre-sale begins Tuesday, January 20 at 10:00 AM EST. Then, tickets will go on sale to the general public on Thursday, January 22 at 10:00 AM EST.

Meanwhile, the musical adapts the New York Times bestselling novel that later inspired the 1988 film. Beaches follows the lifelong bond between the outspoken, ambitious Cee Cee and the more reserved Bertie. They meet as children. They remain connected through decades of personal and professional change. Their friendship endures joy, rivalry, and loss.

Creative team

In addition, the creative team includes Grammy Award winner Mike Stoller (music), Iris Rainer Dart (lyrics), and Dart and Thom Thomas (book), with development support from David Austin.

On Broadway, Lonny Price and Matt Cowart co-direct the production. Jessica Vosk stars as Cee Cee. Kelli Barrett plays Bertie. Jennifer Rias provides choreography, with orchestrations by Charlie Rosen. Designers include James Noone (scenic), Tracy Christensen (costumes), Ken Billington (lighting), Kai Harada (sound), David Bengali (projections), and J. Jared Janas (wig, hair, and makeup). The TRC Company handles casting, with Joseph Thalken as music supervisor and Thomas Recktenwald as production stage manager.

Finally, producers include Jennifer Maloney-Prezioso, Douglas McJannet for Arden Entertainment, Alison Spiriti and Justin Sudds for Right Angle Entertainment, and Ryan Bogner and Tracey McFarland for Broadway & Beyond Theatricals. The musical premiered internationally in 2024 at Theatre Calgary, where it earned multiple regional awards. The team will announce additional casting and national tour details at a later date.
